Nagonosabo Hanasenca is a modern teahouse where Japanese tea, matcha, and seasonal sweets are gently woven together. We travel to tea fields across Japan, selecting leaves directly from farmers. Each tea carries the story of its land—its soil, climate, and traditions.Among them, mountain-grown teas, slow to mature and rich in umami and fragrance, hold a special place in our hearts.Every cup reveals not only flavor, but also the spirit, craft, and beauty of those who nurture it.

About 400 years ago, during the construction of Nagoya Castle, a bustling merchant town was established—and it is here that Hanasenca now stands. The main street through this district, about 7 meters wide, became known as Shikemichi. On its east side, sturdy earthen storehouses were built; on the west side, rows of traditional townhouses. In Nagono, a town where history and tradition are still woven into everyday life, Hanasenka serves as a modern teahouse—offering Japanese tea, matcha, and seasonal sweets with heartfelt hospitality.

Together with artists we are connected to, we weave moments of tea and sweets. It is the atmosphere, the encounters, the people you can only meet in this place.Even as times change in the blink of an eye, vessels and tools are crafted to accompany the tea and sweets that stay close to us.From time to time, we share exhibitions of such works and gatherings that celebrate sweets.
